nancy lublin
Since August 2003, CEO Nancy Lublin has overseen Do Something's growth and led the effort to begin awarding more grant money to young people who want to make a difference. Nancy is deeply passionate about Do Something and the activist mission behind the organization. She says her first activist campaign was liberating the purple crayons in pre-school after one loud boy had declared them "not allowed for girls."
Nancy Lublin founded Dress for Success to honor her grandfather's spirit of altruism during the Great Depression. In partnership with three nuns from Spanish Harlem, Dress for Success New York was created and became the very first Dress for Success Affiliate. Nancy then moved on to found Dress for Success Worldwide, the national support center for all Dress for Success Affiliates. In May, 2002, after 5 years of much dedication, and with mixed emotions, Nancy relinquished her role as Executive Director. She began speaking to groups throughout the nation about activism and advocacy, and embarked on other creative and innovative enterprises.
