Author Miriam Peskowitz’s best-known work is the internationally-bestselling phenomenon The Daring Book for Girls, and the latest book in the Daring series, The Double-Daring Book for Girls. Her other books include The Truth Behind the Mommy Wars.
Miriam is an accomplished speaker, teacher and workshop leader. She has been a camp counselor, a musician, a blogger, a documentary talking-head, an historian, a professor, an entrepreneur, a new venture advisor and coach, and most recently, the host of her own TV show on PBS, Daring Kids with Miriam Peskowitz.
Miriam’s talks are all about what it takes to be a daring woman or girl. She has traveled to universities, coffee shops, nonprofit organizations, and conferences across the country with interactive lectures about what it means to inspire ourselves and other women to have dreams and figure out the confidence and actual steps to make them happen. Based on these lectures, she also now offers The Daring Workshop, aimed at women who need the courage to take the next steps in their lives.
Miriam likes to kayak, hike, and tinker in the basement and the backyard, depending on the season. She has two daughters and a husband, and all of them live happily in an old house in Philadelphia. She is currently working on a book about college and what we really need to know to make it the amazing journey it’s supposed to be. She is also developing The Daring Workshop, which is a guide and workbook for how to find our visions and how to figure out the steps we need to take to make them real. Her new book, Code Like a Girl, was released in August 2018.
